Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician performs clinical and technical tasks within pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist or the Director of Pharmacy Affairs. Responsibilities include assisting with prescription dispensing, inventory management, insurance verification, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Accurately prepare and dispense medications according to pharmacy SOPs * Identify medications from stock, count correct quantities, and prepare prescription labels * Verify patient eligibility with insurance plans and third-party payers and calculate costs as needed * Answer incoming calls and respond to routine questions, escalating complex inquiries to the pharmacist * Assist with patient education materials under pharmacist supervision * Support refill authorization requests and communication with providers and care team members * Maintain accurate records and assist with quality control and quality assurance activities * Manage daily pharmacy operations including inventory, supplies, and cash handling * Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, and all state and federal requirements * Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment * Promote positive relationships with patients, visitors, and the community * Support the mission, vision, and values of Tampa Family Health Centers Required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Pharmacy Technician Certification from an approved technical school or a minimum of six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy * Current BLS certification or ability to maintain certification * Ability to complete required 340B University training within the first two weeks of employment and annual renewals thereafter * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health records * Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform basic pharmacy math Skills and Abilities * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds * Ability to work efficiently in a moderately fast-paced clinical environment * Team-oriented mindset with adaptability to changing priorities Work Environment and Physical Requirements * Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday * Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds * Moderate noise level and exposure to a clinical healthcare setting * Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during prolonged periods of concentration Equal Opportunity Employer Tampa Family Health Centers is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
