Purpose: Performing essential Pharmacy medication distribution and control functions according to the standards and guidelines articulated by governing bodies and applicable Acts and Regulations for the service of the Hospital Pharmacy. Rotations will be assigned to meet scheduling and workload requirements for the HSN Pharmacy.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.
  • Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT). (Consideration may be given to candidates who are registered with OCP (valid OCP #) and have a signed agreement documenting their intent of becoming a fully regulated RPhT within 12 months).
  • Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years recent experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant.
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge with metric conversion and pharmaceuticalcalculations.
  • Familiarity with Pharmacy Information Systems.
