About the opportunity Mercy Hospital for Women Heidelberg is a Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, oncology, women’s health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases with close to 200 inpatient beds. The Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of Pharmacists to provide quality pharmaceutical services to the hospital. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining inventory, preparation of purchase orders, unpacking and receipting deliveries, disposal of redundant stock, expiry date checks, stocktake, PBS claim management and manufacturing of non-aseptic products. To thrive in this role, you will: Possession of Pharmacy Technician Certificate or studying towards the same. Previous hospital experience and knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology will be desirable. Have a compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management. Have the ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check. Responsibilities
