Moreover you are/have:

  • Enrolled in a PhD or medical degree program in Biology/Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field at a university and are looking to expand your experience with an industry internship. (must be enrolled at university for 50% of the duration of your stay at Roche, PhD thesis can’t be defended in the first half of the internship). Applications from individuals not enrolled in a PhD or medical degree program will not be considered.
  • Basic laboratory skills and well-versed with standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with isolation and quantification of EV isolation and quantification would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Enthusiasm for scientific research and a willingness to learn new techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the isolation and purification of extracellular vesicles from human biofluid samples using techniques such as ultracentrifugation, size-exclusion

chromatography, or using commercial kits.

  • Perform characterization of EVs using biochemical assays and methods to analyze the protein and nucleic acid content of EVs such as LC-MS, ELISA, ddPCR, RNA-seq as well as TEM and Cryo-EM.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records of experiments and results.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze data and contribute to the interpretation of findings.
  • Participate in lab meetings and present research progress and findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and potentially contribute to scientific publications.
