Our research focuses on the development and clinical translation of adoptiveimmunotherapy for malignant and non-malignant diseases with T cells that have been modified by gene transfer to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). CAR T cell therapy is a transformative treatment in cancer medicine and the PhD student desired for this project will have the ability to make a contribution to its transformation beyond malignant diseases.
Your project: is handling the challenges of acute and chronic inflammation in ex vivo and in vivo models. The project is based on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell genetic engineering with in-depth functional analyses in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo. The project is highly visible, high risk/high gain and can serve as the kickstarter for an excellent scientific career. The Program is designed for a 3-year period and can start immediately (from September 2025). Salary is paid according to the German public service scale based on candidates’ background and experience (TV-L).
