The Department of Radiation Research on Biological Systems is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) to investigate the impact of ionizing radiation on mammalian cells.

• Cultivation of mammalian cells
• Biochemical as well as cell and molecular biological methods to study the interactions of alpha emitters with mammalian cells
• Characterization of the molecular species of the radionuclide in cellular compartments/cells using spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis, Raman, X-ray absorption spectroscopy) and microscopic methods (e.g., electron microscopy)
• Writing scientific publications and presenting research results to scientific communities
• Mentoring student courses in Radiobiology or Radiochemistry
