Description
Company Description For 35 years, we have been developing cutting-edge science and technology to empower biomedical research and personalized medicine. We combine excellence from more than 60 disciplines in natural sciences, engineering, and informatics to make a significant contribution to biomedical sciences. We encourage a creative working environment driven by pioneering spirit – to seek new horizons – boldly envisioning the future and turning it into reality. Today, more than 4,800 experts from over 50 countries contribute to our sustainable success. Job Description While obtaining your doctor’s degree, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that is developing cutting-edge technologies for the advancement of spatial proteomics with a strong focus on novel assays that expand its scope. You will apply a broad range of methods from cellular and vesicular biology, secretomics, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, immunofluorescence, super-resolution microscopy, surface treatments, PDMS-based soft lithography, microfluidics, as well as immunology, including the co-culturing of immune cells (e.g. for advanced microscopic observations of CAR-T killing assays). Following a thorough introduction and on-the-job training you will perform your experiments independently, but also in close collaboration with the team. Bringing in your own ideas, you will actively contribute to the development of novel assays for cyclic immunofluorescence that support our development of immunotherapies. Sharing your results is fundamental within the team as well as other departments within the company. Therefore, you will continue to develop communication skills to present and discuss your results at internal meetings. Your workplace is Bergisch Gladbach. Qualifications You already hold a M.Sc. degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or comparable with above-average grades. During your studies you gained extensive knowledge of molecular biology, cellular assays, biochemical assays, fluorescence microscopy and immunofluorescence. You have first hands-on experiences with mammalian cell culture techniques, molecular biology techniques and immunofluorescence. Experience in immunology, soft lithography (PDMS) and microfluidics is a plus. You are highly self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and are willing to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and spoken English skills complete your profile.
