Job Description Role purpose: Support trialing activities by applying agronomic knowledge and data expertise to collect, check and store phenotyping data, contributing to informed decision-making in plant breeding and product positioning. The position is covering mostly Central and/or North-East Bulgaria. Role responsibilities: Provide options for suitable trial locations & fields and ensure proper maintenance of the trials Help field agronomist(s) with the sowing and harvest operations and the collect of samples for analysis Capture GPS coordinates and sowing dates, collect phenotyping data, and record harvest data accurately Submit and manage data (planting data, soil analysis data, phenotyping data, harvest data, and quality trait data) by storing it in the right tools, and conduct data quality checks, identifying outliers, and taking corrective measures Provide raw data to officials as required Qualifications Required knowledge & technical capabilities Technical expertise: Competency in agronomy, including cross-crops knowledge, soil science, farming practices, and machinery Collaboration in a matrix environment: Ability to effectively work within a matrix structure that spans across different geographic locations and diverse cultural backgrounds Attention to detail: Demonstrate a keen eye for detail is crucial for reliable data collection Analytical mindset: Possess an analytical mindset to help in interpreting and analyzing collected phenotyping data Carry out drone flights for phenotyping activities Drive agricultural machinery (tractor, harvesters, forklift, etc.) Critical Skills: Problem-solving and critical thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and obstacles encountered during the trialing process Quality control: Ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of collected data through rigorous quality control Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards related to trialing and data management Behaviours, Critical capabilities for the role: Communication skills: Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members Flexibility: Being open to travel within the country and its borders as required Language: Proficiency in English
