PRESS RELEASE PR- SINGAPORE, 16 November 2024 - The Philippine Embassy in Singapore announces the appointment of Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa as the new Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat. During a courtesy call, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig extended congratulations to Mr. Pedrosa, who will assume the role and responsibilities at the APEC Secretariat in Singapore for a three-year term. "This appointment underscores the global recognition of Filipino talent and leadership. It makes us very proud to see one of our own stepping into such an important position within the Asia-Pacific region," remarked Ambassador Macaraig. As Executive Director, Mr. Pedrosa will play a pivotal role in driving APEC's agenda, fostering economic growth, and enhancing regional cooperation among member economies. The Philippines has been an active participant of APEC for 35 years, and this leadership position further solidifies our commitment to promoting a free and open trade, sustainable development, and inclusive growth across the Asia-Pacific.
