JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an experienced phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in our new project, providing high quality services to breast cancer patients in a homecare setting . Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing venipunctures and other requested venous blood samples from patients with breast cancer.
  • Training patients on how to record accurate ECG readings using a portable device in the patient’s home.
  • Accurately labelling and handling blood samples.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Collaborating with Healthcare Professionals as well as other Apodi team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Educating patients and their families about the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • Travelling to pre scheduled appointments.

We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join our compassionate and dedicated team, covering Wigan and surrounding areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist with formal evidence of competency and experience.
  • Experience working in a homecare setting.
  • Previous experience of phlebotomy for patients who are undertaking cancer treatment is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s licence (max.6 points) and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively depending on the location of patients.
