Overview Post Title: Phlebotomist Post Status: Permanent Department: Phlebotomy Location: Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9, Ireland Reports to: CMN2/ Senior Phlebotomist Salary: Appointment will be made on Phlebotomy salary scale (€38,671 - €50,145, LSI €51,007) at a point in line with Government pay policy. Hours of work: Full Time ( 35 Hours) Closing Date: 12 noon, 26th June 2026 Responsibilities Position Summary: A panel may be formed in which the successful candidate(s) will fill vacant posts in a Permanent/ Specific Purpose/ Fixed Term capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the duties of a qualified Phlebotomist which includes providing a quality blood sample for laboratory analysis. Flexibility and adaptability are essential with regard to working hours as the Phlebotomy Department provides a 7 day phlebotomy service, which includes in-patients and the out-patient department in both Beaumont and St Joseph’s Hospitals and the Accident and Emergency Department. The Phlebotomy team provides a vital service to the hospital. Good teamwork is essential for the operation of this department. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • To work as part of the Phlebotomy Team and perform venepuncture on patients as directed. • Participate in work schedules and work programmes created to provide for the most effective and efficient deployment of staff. • Promote open communications, good working relationships and stimulate initiatives within the Phlebotomy team. • Participate in agreeing goals and objectives and maintaining teamwork. • To participate in the training of other staff in Phlebotomy Techniques as requested. • Participate in any quality initiatives implemented by either Hospital or Laboratory Management. • Participate in the implementation of Laboratory Information initiatives such as order communications. • To assist in the management of stocks within Phlebotomy.
