Access Ice to print patient blood test information. Access Careflow to arrive and outcome patients attending for scheduled appointments. Monitor and order stock as required for service provision. Maintain own Phlebotomy Trolley including replenishing of stock as needed and clean in line with IPC and local policy.
Ensure that samples are labelled at the patients bedside/ with the patient correctly and using the correct request forms. Ensure the safe transit of urgent and routine blood samples from the wards and clinic areas to laboratories to ensure that urgent samples are dealt with in accordance with laboratory policy. Participate in late rotas, work flexibly to support the service. Identify and report any patient safety incidents, near misses or concerns to the nurse in charge and using the Inphase reporting system
