Responsibilities
  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approvedStandard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest productionstandards and ensure facility compliance.
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with companyvalues and culture.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Reviews and confirms donor identification and maintains donor confidentiality per StandardOperating Procedures.
  • Sets up and prepares all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture andplasmapheresis procedure.
  • Labels and ensures each unit and samples are labeled accurately.
  • Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality andsafety.
  • Operates the automated plasmapheresis machines, including response and evaluation of allmachine alarms and alerts, donor adverse events, document exceptions, etc.
  • Monitor donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and the qualityof plasma product.
  • Maintains proper ratio to ensure donor safety and to quality of product.
  • Disconnects donors and handles the disposal of biohazardous waste and contaminatedequipment, including cleaning spills and following safety protocols.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresismachines and removes and/or replaces equipment from service, if needed.
  • Reports all unsafe situations and conditions to management.
  • Maintains/stocks adequate inventory and replenish supplies on plasma carts.
  • Responsible for mentoring Phlebotomist I and may be assigned to drive training efficiencies toensure timeliness and compliance and may be assigned as a Designated Trainer.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting machine alarms/alerts and perform QCs routinely (defined asdaily/monthly).
  • Partners with Quality Assurance on overall Donor Floor performance (favorable performanceobservations, CAPA implementations and continuous improvement initiatives).
  • Assists with storage room organization and performs assigned tasks following the First In, FirstOut (FIFO) method.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.
