Description

Phlebotomist/Lab Technician for Clinical Research Studies: Immediate full-time job opening for a large multi-specialty research center specializing in metabolic disorders. We conduct research studies of investigational medications and devices for pharmaceutical and biotech companies with an emphasis in diabetes, lipids and obesity.
1. Drawing and Processing Samples
· Ensure that participants are seen in a timely manner
· Supports meal challenge studies
· Process samples according to study specific lab manuals
· Complete requisitions and other study related documents
· Maintain Laboratory Manual
· Package and ship specimens according to sponsor specific and IATA guidelines
· Assure compliance with applicable regulations, including enrollment and participation
· Trains clinical staff in proper processing techniques and lab processes
2. Set up labs
· Ensure the lab and draw room are appropriately set up for the testing performed and provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical and biological hazards. Supports safety measures & procedures
· Assist with laboratory equipment QC and maintenance schedule to ensure that equipment is functioning properly, and QC/maintenance is performed on time.
· Able to assist with YSI set-up and maintenance.
3. Supplies
· Inventory and order study specific supplies on a weekly basis
· Inventory and prepare necessary medical supplies on a weekly basis. Assists with reordering of medical/clinical or other supplies
· Notify Coordinators when study supplies arrive, assist with inventory & storage as needed
4. Additional Responsibilities
· Assists with other tasks as requested to support the success of clinical trials and company
· Actively engages with and promotes company management system
· Regularly attends department and all staff meetings
· Demonstrates understanding with medical terminology & research
· Demonstrates competency with Microsoft Suite & associated technology
· Work within a team. Assists with other tasks as directed.
· Basic understanding of regulatory requirements
· Serves as resource and support for other members of RCRC
· Actively promotes company’s mission, vision, and values and serves as a role model for the employees
· This position requires reliable transportation and may require offsite tasks.

  • Educational Reimbursement for Professional Employees (MD, ARNP, RN, or RD). Professional employees who are required to complete a certain number of educational hours to maintain their licensure will be reimbursed to the limits specified in the Company Educational Allowance.
