1. Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, following standard protocols and safety measures.
2. Accurately label, record, and prepare blood samples for laboratory testing.
3. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during and after the phlebotomy procedure.
4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
5. Use proper infection control techniques and follow established procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
6. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
7. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely collection of specimens.
9. Accurately enter patient information and test orders into the laboratory information system.
10. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and participate in continuing education to maintain phlebotomy certification.
11. Assist in training and mentoring new phlebotomy staff.
12. Demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety by following all MUSC Health policies and procedures.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

• Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: Candidates For A Phlebotomist Job At Musc Health Should Have Completed An Accredited Phlebotomy Program, Ensuring They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.
