OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws, collecting specimens from patients in a safe, efficient, compassionate manner and perform admin tasks including taking calls, scheduling patients and following up with patients regarding their needs. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate laboratory results that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. The Phlebotomist will work closely with patients, providing exceptional care while adhering to strict safety protocols and medical standards.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a laboratory or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care with empathy and professionalism.
  • Experience in phlebotomy techniques is a plus; training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples from patients.
  • Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens to maintain accuracy.
  • Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, including labeling and processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and provide comfort.
  • Document all procedures accurately in patient records and laboratory systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and support laboratory operations.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology and laboratory protocols to enhance patient interactions and procedural efficiency.
  • Perform ECG’s in a timely manner
  • Answering phone calls and booking appointments and follow ups
  • Keeping the doctors schedules up to date
