In this role, there is opportunity to: Collect blood specimens via venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick. Instruct patients on self-collection for non-blood specimens. Accurately enter orders and patient data in lab systems. Maintain sample integrity and follow safety protocols. Perform clerical tasks, including specimen labeling and transport. Ensure compliance with infection control and quality standards. Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers. Train new employees or students as assigned. May perform arterial punctures with proper training. Monitor inventory and maintain cost-effective supply use. Required High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program Minimum 6 months experience performing phlebotomy Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalent certification preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalent certification preferred.
