JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a creative and experienced Photography Instructor to lead a high school-level photography program. This role involves teaching students the fundamentals of photography, composition, and editing, with hands-on experience using cameras and editing software. The instructor will help students develop their artistic and technical skills while fostering a passion for visual storytelling.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of techniques and styles.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in photography, particularly at the high school level.
  • Knowledge of photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to explore photography and visual storytelling.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging photography lessons that cover a range of skills, from camera settings and composition to digital editing.
  • Introduce students to various photography styles, such as portrait, landscape, and action photography.
  • Provide hands-on guidance in camera usage, lighting techniques, and image composition.
  • Teach students basic photo editing techniques using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
  • Create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity.
  • Organize and supervise photography projects and assignments to develop students’ portfolios.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the safety of all students during class.
  • Collaborate with school staff and administration to align the program with school policies and goals.
