Office Manager & Studio Maestro
Are you a highly organized people-person who loves to keep things running smoothly? Do you have a knack for turning chaos into a well-oiled machine? We’re looking for an Office Manager & Studio Maestro to be the heart of our busy high school sports photography studio.
This role isn’t about being a corporate cog; it’s about being the steady anchor for a creative, and sometimes chaotic, environment. Our owner and lead photographer needs a partner in crime—someone who can proactively handle details, schedule with common sense, and bring order to their chaotic schedule. If you’re looking for a low-key, predictable gig, this probably isn’t it. If you’re looking for a rewarding, fast-paced role where your organizational skills truly make a difference, keep reading.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- The Go-To-Person: You’ll be the first point of contact for schools, parents, and students. You’ll handle calls, emails, and texts with professionalism, empathy, and a great sense of humor. You’re the calm voice that can soothe a frantic parent or get a laugh out of a high school athlete.
- The Master Planner: You’ll use your common sense and sharp scheduling skills to manage our calendar in Sprout Studio and Google Calendar. You’ll ensure every shoot is perfectly planned and that our team knows exactly where they need to be.
- The Financial Wizard: You’ll handle invoicing, track payments, and follow up with clients. You’ll manage the money side of things so we can focus on the art.
- The Problem-Solver: You’ll be the one to anticipate needs, stock our supplies, and keep the studio running smoothly. You may also occasionally assist on shoots to ensure everything runs like clockwork.
- The Team Leader: You’ll supervise our part-time assistants, ensuring they’re working professionally and accurately.
Who We’re Looking For:
You have a can-do attitude, a great sense of humor, and the ability to work independently. You are:
- Reliable and Detail-Oriented: This is non-negotiable. We need someone who can catch details and follow through without constant reminders.
- A People Person: You can talk to anyone—from a nervous freshman to a frustrated parent to a high-strung athletic director—and make them feel heard and valued.
- Proactive: You see a problem and fix it before anyone else even knows it’s an issue. You don’t wait to be told what to do; you find what needs to be done and do it.
- Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable with computers, scheduling software, and communication platforms.
- Flexible: You’re ready to tackle the cyclical nature of our business, which means some weeks will be a sprint during sports season, while others will be a marathon of post-production.
What We Offer:
- Pay: We’re offering a starting wage of $11-14 per hour, based on your experience and skills, with the ability to earn bonuses and pay increases based on performance.
- A Rewarding Role: You’ll be an essential part of a creative team, helping to capture priceless memories for our community.
- Growth Opportunities: We have a long track record of promoting from within. For the right person, there is a potential path to taking over the business in the next few years. We’re willing to train and mentor someone who wants to grow with us and eventually lead.
- A Fun, Fast-Paced Environment: While the work is serious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We like to joke, listen to good music, and celebrate our wins.
If you’re ready to be the anchor for our creative ship and are excited by the idea of a challenging, rewarding role with a potential path to ownership, we want to hear from you.
To Apply: Please send your resume and a a quick indeed message explaining why you’re the right person to bring order to our creative chaos.
