The Los Angeles Times has an opening for a talented and energetic photojournalist. The successful applicant will work closely with our award-winning photography team and editors to create the most effective visual display for print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong photography, journalism and visual storytelling skills. The applicant must be an excellent communicator and able to work well in a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of six years of journalism experience
• Excellent photographic skills; can produce cover-worthy photos for every section of the paper
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Superior news judgment and knowledge of taste and legal considerations
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High level of professionalism and enthusiasm at all times
• Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure
• Thorough knowledge of current software and use of remote transmission and communication systems
  This position is listed as Photojournalist in the Los Angeles Times Guild and will be based in El Segundo, Calif. Work on weekends, nights and holidays will be required. Occasional travel is expected. Photojournalists must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle in good working condition, with suitable auto insurance coverage.

  The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $41.83 to $55.91 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs.
