KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience in WordPress development
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugin architecture
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and implementation
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
• Familiarity with MySQL and database management tools like PHPAdmin
• Understanding of performance optimisation techniques, including asset minification, lazy loading, and server-side improvements
• Experience configuring and managing Cloudflare CDN, DNS, caching, page rules, and security features
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong eye for UI/UX detail and layout precision

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are currently recruiting for a mid-level WordPress Developer with solid experience in PHP, including WordPress, MySQL, and PHPAdmin. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the WordPress platform and be highly proficient in coding, development, and design.
You will collaborate closely with our external agency, suppliers and key stakeholders across various regions. Reporting to the Group Digital Marketing Director, you will contribute to the development of digital strategies that align with our group objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites for Andrews Sykes Group, enhancing functionality and user experience
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable PHP code, adhering to best practices and standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues in a timely manner
• Optimise websites for speed, scalability, and responsiveness
• Create and maintain custom plugins and widgets
• Design and implement website layout and structure
• Ensure all websites are mobile-friendly, SEO-optimised, and meet accessibility standards
• Monitor analytics and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Improve UX across all sites to streamline the customer journey
• Maintain site security, manage regular backups, and ensure data integrity
• Configure, manage, and optimise Cloudflare services, including CDN, SSL, caching, and security rules to enhance website performance and protection
• Liaise with Cloudflare support or internal IT teams to resolve DNS, firewall, or performance issues
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure website functionality aligns with campaign goals
