Position Summary AZ Compass Prep is seeking a Physical Education Teacher who will lead engaging, structured, and standards-aligned instruction for students in grades Pre-K through 12. This role focuses on building lifelong fitness habits, promoting teamwork, and supporting student growth through movement, health education, and character development. You will create a safe, active, and achievement-focused environment where all students can succeed. You will also contribute to a strong school culture through coaching, collaboration, and student engagement. This is a 10-Month position. Key Responsibilities Instruction and Planning Plan and deliver daily PE lessons aligned to Arizona standards and Career Ready expectations Develop units that build physical fitness, motor skills, and knowledge of health and wellness Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners across grade levels Post lesson plans and materials electronically in a timely manner Classroom Environment and Culture Create a structured, positive, and achievement-oriented environment Teach and reinforce character development, teamwork, and sportsmanship Incorporate literacy strategies into instruction when appropriate Maintain clear routines, expectations, and safety procedures Assessment and Progress Monitoring Track student progress in fitness, skill development, and participation Use data to adjust instruction and support student growth Provide feedback to students that is clear and actionable Student Engagement and Community Build strong relationships with students and families Communicate regularly using school-based technology platforms Support school events, field days, and community activities Athletics and Extracurriculars Coach or support after-school sports programs as needed Help build and sustain strong, competitive, and positive athletic programs Professional Responsibilities Collaborate with staff to support school-wide goals Participate in professional development and implement feedback Contribute to a positive and unified school culture Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required CPR and First Aid Certification required Ability to teach across Pre-K through 12th grade Ability to coach after-school programs Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card required Preferred: Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certificate or Intern Certificate Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong planning, organization, and lesson design skills Ability to create structured, engaging, and high-expectation environments Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Commitment to continuous improvement and openness to feedback Ability to integrate character education into daily instruction Proficiency with technology for communication and instruction Core Beliefs You believe every student can achieve at high levels You hold high expectations for both academics and behavior You value strong relationships with students, families, and staff You are committed to building a positive and inclusive school culture Why Join AZ Compass Prep Strong school community with a focus on student achievement Opportunities to coach and lead extracurricular programs Supportive leadership and ongoing professional development A culture that values growth, collaboration, and impact If you are passionate about student success, physical wellness, and building strong school culture, we encourage you to apply.
