About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an great opportunity for a Physical Integration Engineer to join our Hunter Class Program based at Adelaide or Melbourne, reporting to the Lead Engineer.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for Delivering compliant and mature conceptual designs of Combat Systems’ owned compartments, in accordance with program requirements and schedule. Although the role is advertised as full-time, we are open to considering candidates who wish to be employed on a Part-time basis as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering managers and technical leaders to mature the spatial design of combat systems compartments in accordance with system and program requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the detailed design team to manage trade-offs between functional design intent and physical constraints.
  • Evaluate supplier equipment data with respect to its physical integration, including the identification of design impacts and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of multi-disciplinary technical issues.
  • Contribute to, and participate in technical reviews and working groups.

About YOU

  • Experience working with ships is considered desirable
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is considered highly desirable
  • Experience in technical integration is considered essential
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain an NV1 Clearance
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
