JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health environments. REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes and development of individualized care plans.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience while providing care to patients with varying needs.
  • Previous experience in physiotherapy practices is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including trigger point therapy and therapeutic exercises.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care settings to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Work with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation.
