OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in physiotherapy and patient management will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
  • Experience working in various settings such as inpatient care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health preferred.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes and the ability to create effective care plans for diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on improving quality of life through rehabilitation therapies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic exercises tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including trigger point therapy and other modalities to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
  • Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately in accordance with medical terminology and facility protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families on care plans, exercises, and techniques to promote recovery and prevent further injury.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive discharge planning for patients transitioning from acute care or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in physiotherapy, geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, and other relevant areas.
