Job Description:
Performs the essential duties and the primary functions of a physical therapist assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to administering physical therapy treatments, documenting treatment, and communicating with physicians and other health care workers. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of instructions in written and oral form.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required
  • Must meet current legal requirements of licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant within the State of Texas
  • Required to complete eight (8) hours of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Total Joint and Spine. Education will focus on management/care of total hip, knee and shoulder replacement as well as elective spinesurgery patients.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
