Description Summary Under supervision of a Physical Therapist and in accordance with agency policies, gives medically prescribed therapy. Provides advisory services to other professional workers who share responsibility for client care. Participates in the development of the physical therapy program. Functions require special skills and knowledge of public health principles and practices. Each client visit will be documented on the appropriate clinical or progress note. Essential Duties Performs physical therapy procedures on clients based on the evaluating physical therapist’s plan of care. Teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to client and family members as delegated and supervised by the therapist. Translates all exercises into functional activities or activities of daily living. Provides recommendation and instruction on home modifications, adaptive equipment or medical equipment. Communicates with the Physical Therapist regarding client’s progress. Maintains necessary records. Prepares clinical and progress notes. Requirements Qualifications: Associate degree and graduation from an accredited school for Physical Therapy Assistants required. Current Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License. One year PTA work experience. Home health experience preferred. CPR certification. Current driver's license and auto insurance coverage.
Responsibilities
