OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to implement care plans effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or home health settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with physiotherapy techniques and discharge planning processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations across different age groups.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including administering trigger point therapy and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients from one level of care to another.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in accordance with facility policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in various settings such as acute care, outpatient clinics, orthopedics, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
