Responsibilities
  • Provides consultation on behalf of students with suspected disabilities
  • Evaluate gross motor, neuromuscular/musculoskeletal systems, and functional mobility of children with known or suspected disabilities
  • Completes and presents written evaluation reports to parents and school districts within required timelines
  • Develop and implement, as part of the IEP/IFSP, a treatment plan to meet the unique needs of students
  • Creates and provides individualized physical therapy interventions for students on caseloads
  • Reevaluates each student’s treatment program and revises objectives and program when necessary
  • Communicates with medical professionals, serves as liaison between medical professionals and school staff, and obtains required physical therapy prescriptions
  • Provide information and training to staff and parents related to a student’s disability and/or functional development
  • Assists with procurement and use of adaptive equipment such as positioning devices, walkers, and gait trainers
  • Implement and support the MOVE program to promote functional mobility skills for students, incorporating physical therapy strategies to enhance independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parents, administrators, school personnel and community representatives
  • Inform supervisor of students’ progress and programmatic concerns
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Comply with school district policies and procedures and the Medicaid billing process
  • Effectively participate in meetings, committees, staffings and other required district and building activities in a positive manner
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
