We are looking for motivated Physical Therapists to provide electromyography and nerve conduction testing services (EMG / NCS). Therapists must be either ABPTS board-certified in clinical electrophysiology or interested in being trained in clinical electrophysiology and becoming ABPTS board-certified. In this specialized role, you’ll perform EMG and nerve conduction studies, with the opportunity to receive training in clinical electrophysiology and pursue ABPTS board certification while working a consistent weekday schedule. Responsibilities Becoming an expert in the field of electrophysiology through direct training with APBTS board certified specialists. Understanding the reaction of the peripheral nervous system to injury such as focal neuropathy, radiculopathy, plexopathy, polyneuropathy, and other neuromuscular disorders. Identifying and understanding nerve and muscle disorders through detailed history, clinical examination, and electroneuromyographic testing. Working with physician specialties including orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, primary care, and others. Becoming eligible to sit for Electrophysiological Clinical Specialist (ECS) board certification exam Diagnosing patients by observing their movements and listening to their concerns Developing individualized treatment plans for patients Using exercises, stretching, equipment, and hands-on manual therapy to manage patients’ pain, increase mobility, and prevent further pain and injury Educating patients and family members about the recovery process associated with physical therapy Qualifications Qualifications: Physical Therapist Licensure in good standing in Georgia Physical Therapy degree from a CAPTE accredited institution: Doctorate of Physical Therapy required. One to two year of clinical experience preferred but not required. Motivated learner as this will be on the job training Candidates with EMG / nerve conduction testing experience are preferred Motivated candidates without experience who are willing to be trained and work towards ABPTS board certification in Clinical Electrophysiology are encouraged to apply.
