Physical Therapist Video - Jamie Position Summary: The Physical Therapist assesses, plans, organizes, and administers rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Job Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited therapy program Experience: 2-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred). Licenses/Certifications: Current Physical Therapist state license; CPR certification Requirements Restores patient’s function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy. Provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results. Develops Plan of Treatment for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement. Determines physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription. Implements Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjusts this schedule and plan according to patients progress. Helps patient accomplish treatment plan by administering manual exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary. Evaluates mobility, strength and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable. Evaluates and records patients progress, modifying treatment plans, and trying new treatments if required. Evaluates the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, and noting patient’s progress, and recommending adjustments and modifications. Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures. Reports patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients. Develops a plan for patients following completion of their Plan of Treatment with appropriate in-home care services. Why Join VMRC?
