Description POSITION OVERVIEW Improving the quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education, by examining each person and then developing a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION · Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition · Established a plan of care which is appropriate to problems in identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires · Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. · Supervises and delegates the care provided by physical therapy assistants according to established licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards. · Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: · 1+ years of experience preferred · Physical Therapy License required by the state · Graduated from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required · BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: · 1+ years of experience preferred · Physical Therapy License required by the state · Graduated from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required · BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
