Description Provides direct physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of the Licensed Physical Therapist as determined by the plan of care ordered by a physician, consistent with hospital policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Rehab Director. Provides assistance to the patient in the restoration of function and prevention of disability following disease, injury, or loss of a limb. Has full access to patient health information. Shift: PRN Requirements Current licensure in NC as a Physical Therapist Assistant or state licensure examination eligible. CPR certification required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If not currently certified must complete upon hire. Successful completion of a competency based orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the PTA will be working, and addresses the growth and development needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Work requires the physical demands of positioning, transferring, and lifting patients. Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
