SUMMARY: The Physician Assistant functions to assist the physician in the delivery of medical care; obtains historical and physical data on patients; interprets and integrates findings to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedure under the supervision and guidance of the physician. The Physician Assistant also assists in management of treatment plans, providing technical assistance and assuring quality patient care. The Physician Assistant must maintain positive relationships with patients, family members, visitors and fellow employees. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires formal training which will probably be indicated by graduation from an accredited program of physician assistant studies. The PA must possess a Physician Assistant certification and current KY board licensure. PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:  Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; lift, move and transport patients, equipment, supplies; motor coordination and manual dexterity; ability to communicate effectively; ability to read/understand orders; visual acuity.
