SUMMARY: Under the direction of an individually assigned physician and practice manager, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive, episodic medical care to patients presenting to Brown Health Medical Group Urgent Care sites. The APP practices in a fast paced, high volume environment and delivers patient centered care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care teams. Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and episodic illnesses and injuries Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, radiology studies, and other diagnostic procedures Perform appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice Explain diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and prescribed therapies to patients and families Document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary team members to coordinate care Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements Support patient flow and operational efficiency within urgent care centers Work Schedule / Coverage Model Modified full time Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts Weekend and holiday rotation EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: National certification PA C Current Massachusetts license (or eligibility) Authorization to practice as a PA within the state AHA Basic Life Support (CPR) EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Ability to perform a wide range of urgent care clinical duties Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred Comfort working independently with physician backup preferred SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None Pay Range: - EEO Statement: Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
