Position Summary Valley Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The PA, under the supervision of a licensed, state-approved sponsoring physician, is responsible for obtaining medical histories, performing comprehensive physical exams, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and minor illnesses and injuries. The PA plays a vital role in patient care delivery, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote positive health outcomes. For a limited time, this position offers a $10,000.00 sign-on bonus to qualified candidates. Duties and Responsibilities The authority and responsibilities of the PA include but are not limited to: Conduct patient/family interviews and compile medical histories. Perform physical examinations, make preliminary diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and recommend drug therapies. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests. Analyze patient history, exam findings, and test results to formulate diagnoses. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families. Treat illnesses under physician supervision; write prescriptions requiring physician co-signature. Consult with the supervising physician as necessary. Assist physicians during medical procedures. Perform administrative tasks as directed by the Medical Director or supervising physician. Attend required in-service trainings and departmental meetings. Execute additional assigned responsibilities as needed. Location Columbus, GA Requirements Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current license to practice in the State of Georgia. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Certified Physician Assistant. At least two (2) years’ experience in a related healthcare setting preferred. Valid CPR/BCLS, ACLS, or PALS certification. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential patient information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and priorities effectively. Evaluation Criteria Performance is evaluated by the Chief Medical Officer in accordance with center policies. Criteria include clinical competence, patient care, communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Compensation Salary: $61.38 Hourly $10,000 Sign-On Bonus (Limited Time Offer) Compliance & Confidentiality Adherence to all federal, state, and local healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA Privacy & Security standards Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information (oral, written, and electronic) Comply with all security protocols, including log-off and secured workstations Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift (occasionally exceeding 50 pounds). Must have full range of body motion to assist or lift patients. Visual, auditory, and hand-eye coordination required. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, and clinical equipment. Must be able to work under stress and maintain flexibility with irregular hours.
