Description
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to work in our Hospitalist Department.  The Physician Assistant (PA)/ NP is to help assist the physician on duty. Below is a list of the PA’s/NP’s job duties:  1. Generate a list for your shift. 2. Receive check out from the previous shift (if physician is not available) and pass along significant information to appropriate parties. 3. Take call and either take appropriate action or give information to responsible person 4. See as many follow-up patients as possible (per attending for the day,) review previous notes, consultants’ notes, pertinent labs and radiology studies. Order appropriate testing, medications, and/or consultants. If unsure, then discuss with that patient’s physician or consultant. Document your findings and plans for that patient to be reviewed by physician. While it is not possible to place a number of follow-up patients to be seen for the day it is expected that the NPP should be on the floor seeing patients. 5. Admissions should be seen as they arrive to floor. 6. Aid in billing by documenting appropriately and as thoroughly as possible.   The shift will be determined by each hiring manager. The pay rate will be determined in accordance with the labor agreement. Qualifications   * Master's Degree required.  * ACLS required. * BLS required. * NCCPA required.  * WV BOM License for PA or BON for NP License required. 
Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will assist the physician on duty by managing patient follow-ups, admissions, and documentation. They are expected to see patients on the floor and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
