Minivasive Pain and Orthopedics   We seek a driven and dynamic leader to join our team as a full-time Pain Nurse Practitioner.   SUMMARY:   The Physician Assistant Orthopedic is responsible for providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions  necessary to provide medical care under the direction of the physician. Functioning as a clinical provider, maintaining and  promoting the health of the patient requiring acute care according to the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas. The PA  conducts physical examinations, diagnosis orthopedic conditions, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, assists in surgical  and non-surgical procedures, and manages post-treatment care.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   • Conducts complex and standardized patient care procedures, which require experience and specialized training  that would otherwise be performed by a physician, but which do not constitute the practice of medicine.  • Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations and provides appropriate treatment.  • Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care.  • Performs minor surgical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.  • Manages pre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the faculty supervising physician.  • Utilizes advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems specific to surgery while communicating  information to supervising/attending physicians.  • Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.  • Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.  • Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.  • Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Enters chart documentation for  review and counter signature by the physician.  • Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or  postsurgical care.  • Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery.    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  • Accountable for independent and ethical professional practice.  • Knowledge of legal standards, patient confidentiality, and risk management.  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.  • Proficient in EHR systems and digital communication tools.  • Skilled in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evaluation.  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.  Premier Medical Resources reserves the rights to change or modify the employee job description whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment  relationship.
