Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Certifications: Must hold current PA certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Licensing: Current Texas PA license (or ability to obtain one).
CPR/BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

YOUR ROLE: PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

As a Physician Assistant with a primary care focus, you’ll provide exceptional care across all life spans and families in a thriving primary care setting. You’ll assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients while collaborating closely with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure comprehensive care and best outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform thorough physical exams and health assessments for pediatric patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, ensuring precision in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies, always considering safety, efficacy, and patient well-being.
  • Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans in partnership with supervising physicians.
  • Provide valuable patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventative health measures.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with patients and their families, becoming a trusted healthcare provider and advocate.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUPPORTING WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify weight-related health risks and develop individualized weight management plans.
  • Provide nutritional counseling and lifestyle coaching to support sustainable weight loss and overall wellness.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, behavioral health specialists, and other care team members to deliver holistic weight management support.
  • Educate patients on the impact of obesity-related conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Prescribe and manage medications or therapies that support weight loss when clinically appropriate.
  • Promote preventive care strategies and long-term behavior change to maintain healthy weight and improve quality of life.
