Description
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Neurosurgery and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services this Physician Assistant (PA) position is assigned to the Neurosurgery practice. This APP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”.  In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures as identified by the list available on the Medical Staff Office website.         
Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant provides medical and surgical care within the Neurosurgery practice under supervision. Responsibilities include managing chronic stable conditions, routine care, and performing approved standardized procedures.
