OVERVIEW Olive Fertility Centre is a patient-centred care facility which views patient care from the patient’s perspective. All employees embrace this concept ensuring patients receive excellent quality care with a compassionate, attentive touch.  MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY  * Customer Service * Greet patient promptly. * Accurate patient or representative identification * Provide clear communication with patient regarding wait times. * Provide accurate information in response to patient inquiries.  * Ensure patients requiring detailed counseling are referred to the nursing team in a timely and appropriate manner. * Provide medication literature or information as required. * Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements. * Provide support and assistance to the care team as required, ultimately with a view to enhancing the provider-patient relationship. * Teach patients how to use their medical devices required for the administration of their fertility medications. * Prescriptions * Receive internal prescriptions from physicians via paper or electronic copy. * Perform a primary identification of patient and confirmation of medications to be filled. * Efficiently and accurately count or measure, package, and label prescriptions, as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice, ensuring all relevant information and documentation is complete. * May be required to mix or reconstitute prescriptions, as directed, and supervised by the nurses or delegate. * Gather pertinent communication pieces for inclusion with prescription. * File completed dispensed prescription documentation. * Manual Medinet/PharmaNet submissions of prescriptions in a timely manner * Stock Management * Maintain inventory of dispensary medications and supplies, including ordering and receiving * Maintain security and proper storage of medications within the dispensary.  * Participate in daily, monthly, and annual dispensary medication inventories. * Generating sales reports and reconciling daily sales * Manage stock rotation and expired products.  * Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided and follow the established protocol of the drug manufacturer or supplier. * Resolve technical issues by contacting IT Service Desk * Notify the Clinic Leadership Team when supply chain issues occur. * Package injection supply kits per protocol * When assigned, assists with circulating patients to change rooms for ultrasounds, minor procedures and physical exam appointments. Provides instructions to patients as needed. Chaperones patients when required or requested. * Assists with turning over room between patients and sterilizes ultrasound probes. * Restocks change rooms and ultrasound rooms supplies throughout the day. * Other duties as trained and required/assigned. PREREQUISITES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Certificate of completion from a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician program or 2 years’ experience working in a dispensary. 2. Adequate computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, in particular). Understanding of the internet is necessary.
