We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our Hospital Medicine team as a Hospitalist. The Physician Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of hospitalization. The Hospitalist Physician works on a shift-based schedule and does not accrue PTO or CME days. This position offers strong clinical support, and opportunities to participate in quality improvement, education, and program development. Schedule & Coverage ICU: Closed Schedule: 7 am - 7 pm Subspecialty Support: Full Job Duties: Provide direct inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning Manage acute and chronic medical conditions for hospitalized patients Coordinate care with consulting specialists, nursing, case management, and ancillary services Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes and length of stay Respond to rapid responses/codes as assigned by the department Support patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives Participate in teaching and mentoring of residents, medical students, or advanced practice providers, as applicable Comply with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements Position Details: Required: MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Eligibility for state medical licensure DEA license (or ability to obtain) Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Preferred: Prior hospitalist or inpatient medicine experience Experience working in a team-based, high-acuity inpatient setting Interest in quality improvement, education, or leadership initiatives What We Offer Competitive base salary starting at $305k Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and malpractice coverage CME allowance and paid CME time Relocation assistance and sign-on incentives (where applicable) Supportive clinical infrastructure and advanced EMR system Opportunities for career growth, leadership, and academic involvement Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required) Experience: Certification(s) and License(s): Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania Skills: Patient Care And Procedural Skills, Professional Etiquette, Systems-Based Practice OUR PURPOSE & VALUES: Everything we do is about caring for our patients, our members, our students, our Geisinger family and our communities.
