We have a new opening for a full-time Internal Medicine Physician at the Naval Medical Center San Diego... CORE Duties: Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF. Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities. Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges. Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling. Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 6:00pm - 8.5 hour shifts No Holidays, No on call, or Weekends! Minimum Qualifications: Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification. Certification: The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instructions. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California. Life Support Certification: Possess current American Heart Assoc or American Red Cross BLS certification. Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
