How you’ll contribute Maintains responsibility for patient services expertise; coding procedures and visits rendered by medical provider. Codes all procedures and visits rendered by medical provider accurately and timely. Assists in the effective and efficient operation of the medical practice. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Must have knowledge of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-10 and CPT coding principles. Must have knowledge of DRG prospective payment systems. Certification in Medical Records Technology or related field preferred.
