On call hours = M-F, 4:30pm to 7:30am; F-M, 4:30pm to 8:00am).on-call hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. A. Overall Purpose of the Job This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Psychiatrist to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental health disorders through a combination of therapy, medication management, and comprehensive patient care. This role involves collaborating with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs. Key Responsibilities • Provide inpatient psychiatry care including admitting, diagnosis, developing treatment plans, timely treatment management, discharge/transfer, and required medical record documentation. • Provide outpatient psychiatry care including seeing new patient referrals with accompanying medical records, seeing severely mentally ill patients, evaluation/disposition electronic consults, and post-discharge follow-up. • Provide clinical psychiatry services; operate the clinic, examine patients, and interpret reports. • Ensure patients are seen on-site in a timely manner. • Participate in off-hours on-call coverage when the facility clinic is closed. • Meet response requirements: available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes when on call. • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health conditions and history. • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. • Provide ongoing therapy, support, and monitoring to help patients achieve their mental health goals and improve overall well-being. • Follow all established medication policies and procedures. • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure holistic patient care. • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric treatments and mental health research to provide the best possible care. • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards. • Follow patient safety and infection control standards and document/disclose patient safety events as required. • Participate in crisis intervention and management for patients in acute mental health distress, including those at risk of self-harm or harm to others. • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodie Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent. Education Required: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Physical Requirements: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
