Oversees area clinical leaders and help support the efforts of the specialty leaders in their division. Builds strategy for care delivery, quality performance, growth and strategic hiring, service line budgets and enterprise integration work. Major Responsibilities: Responsible for identification, implementation, tracking and “course correction” of NSL-specific Process Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives (Note: there will, of course, be Divisional and Medical Group quality metrics/initiatives that complement NSL-specific metrics/initiative; see below) Working with Quality leadership, partners to develop Advocate Health system-wide strategic initiatives and objectives around quality and patient safety, with accountability for quality and clinical effectiveness programs ensuring they are implemented and functioning effectively Works with Advocate Health Division-Based Medical Group leader, to ensure the physician compensation models align with the goals and objectives of the organization and if modifications are necessary, provides input in implementing changes; is an active member of the Physician Compensation Committee. Responsible for budget development, implementation, monitoring, and achievement of budget goals, Manages service line resource utilization Develops physician and APP productivity expectations and manages individual physician/APP performance to expectations Responsible for the deployment, spread and sustainability of new delivery models, practice locations and practice consolidations in collaboration with the Division and Medical Group leadership with final decision authority at the Enterprise NSL level. Determines new market growth strategies/plans and established market expansion plan and drives execution of plans Develops physician/APP growth plans (i.e. annual provider growth plans) and determines providers of all types - affiliation/employed/faculty – are balanced to ensure all missions are supported and the highest quality/value care is delivered Collaborates with all the key stakeholders in delivery of the Advocate Health model of care for the SVC LINE within the Division (nursing, pharmacy, Advocate Core Lab, radiology, etc). Assists in the process for new practice acquisitions, developing new managed network relationships and the assimilation of these groups into Advocate Health Responsible for integration, adoption, and deployment of Advocate Health REWIRE 2030 Strategies with a focus on Quality & Service, and System of Systems of Care. Responsible for adoption, deployment and sustainability of all strategic initiatives Works to support to training programs aligned to the service line within the division (i.e. both physician and non physician) Works, in support of the Vice Dean, to support clinical research endeavors within the division Responsible for physician and APP satisfaction and morale within the service line Develop and maintain good working relationship both with employed and aligned Physicians and APPs Identifies and develops future leaders among the medical staff, working with them to develop skills inclusive of: effective communication, understanding the organization from an Enterprise and Division perspective, and developing relationships with administration. Identifies and recognizes physicians who go ‘above & beyond’ to support excellence in quality, service, efficiency & the overall continuum of care. Oversee Division clinical care delivery leadership, including planning and day-to-day management Directs strategic hiring and Advocate Health physician manpower planning exercise to achieve organizational goals and optimum use of clinical resources Is the primary physician liaison with physician recruiting, assuring onboarding, credentialling and other HR functions Represents Advocate Health to the community as appropriate Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: MD or DO Degree is required Board Certification in a clinical discipline. Education Required: Graduation from an accredited medical school Experience Required: Typically requires 10 years of experience in leading and developing quality initiatives, improvements and programs to include, if necessary, appropriate metrics and benchmarks.
