POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Physics Department from the Faculty of Science is currently seeking applications for one instructor to teach 100% FTE, from Sep 1, 2025 until Aug 31, 2026.
The successful candidate will be required to teach Introductory Physics (PHYS 1100, 1101, 1120) and/or Astronomy courses (ASTR 1100, 3110) in fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Our classes are primarily taught in person and offered between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate must be willing to teach courses at both the KPU Surrey and Richmond campuses; however, they will not be required to travel between the two campuses on the same day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will possess, at a minimum, a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics (or related field) with demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate physics and/or Astronomy courses at the post-secondary level. The successful applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to teach effectively in English. In addition, experience with online instructional delivery will be an asset.

  • Evidence of undergraduate teaching success (i.e., peer and student reviews).
