Job Description Summary GE HealthCare Israel Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and talented Physics Intern to join our innovative research and development team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply fundamental physics principles to cutting-edge medical imaging technologies, contributing to projects that directly impact patient care. Job Description Responsibilities As a Physics Intern, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: * Assisting senior physicists and engineers in the design, development, and testing of medical imaging systems (e.g., PET/SPECT detectors). * Conducting simulations and theoretical modeling to predict system performance and optimize designs. * Performing data analysis and interpretation of experimental results. * Developing and implementing algorithms for image reconstruction, signal processing, or data acquisition. * Contributing to the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and presentations. * Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing innovative ideas to solve complex technical challenges. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and clinical scientists. * Hands on: Performing measurements in the laboratory with diverse equipment Qualifications * Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in Physics, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. * Strong theoretical understanding of fundamental physics principles, including electromagnetism, solid state physics and semiconductor physics, radiation, radioactivity. * Proficiency in scientific programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and C#. * Experience with data analysis tools and techniques. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced research environment. * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. * Prior experience with medical imaging modalities or simulation software (e.g., GEANT4) is a plus. * hands on experience - working in the lab GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator.
