Description

Full job description

Luckhurst Injury Clinic is growing, and we’re looking for a Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist who wants more than simply turning up, treating patients and going home.

We are a small, ambitious private clinic based inside FTC Gym in Ipswich, and we’re looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the future growth of the business.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent clinical care and understands that working successfully in private practice also means providing an outstanding client experience, communicating value clearly and helping patients understand the right next step in their care.

This role is probably for you if:

  • You enjoy working in a smaller, close-knit clinic rather than a large corporate healthcare environment.
  • You have a strong interest in musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation and helping people get back to doing what they love.
  • You are confident talking to people and building genuine relationships with clients.
  • You understand that great clinical care involves more than treatment alone patients need a clear plan, regular communication and confidence in what happens next.
  • You are comfortable recommending an appropriate plan of care and asking patients to rebook when clinically appropriate.
  • You are commercially minded and understand that a successful private clinic needs to generate revenue as well as great clinical outcomes.
  • You are comfortable discussing other relevant services available within the clinic when they would genuinely benefit the patient.
  • You take ownership of your diary and want to build a strong caseload rather than expecting appointments simply to be handed to you.
  • You are organised, reliable and detail-oriented.
  • You enjoy working in a positive, fast-paced and drama-free environment.
  • You want feedback, training and continued development.
  • You are ambitious and want the opportunity to increase your responsibility and earnings as the clinic grows.

What the Role Involves

You will manage your own caseload of private MSK patients and be responsible for their journey from initial assessment through treatment, rehabilitation and discharge.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting high-quality initial assessments.
  • Creating clear treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Explaining findings and recommendations in a way patients understand.
  • Delivering hands-on treatment and exercise rehabilitation where appropriate.
  • Rebooking patients according to their agreed plan of care.
  • Helping patients understand the value of completing their rehabilitation rather than simply attending isolated appointments.
  • Maintaining excellent communication throughout the patient journey.
  • Building strong relationships that encourage retention, referrals and long-term trust.
  • Identifying where other clinic services may genuinely benefit the patient.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical notes and patient records.
  • Working closely with our Client Care team.
  • Taking responsibility for maintaining and growing your own diary.
  • Contributing ideas to help improve the clinic and patient experience.

Private Practice Mindset

This is an important part of the role.

We want excellent clinicians, but clinical ability alone is not enough for us.

You should be comfortable having conversations around:

  • treatment plans
  • rebooking
  • packages or programmes of care where appropriate
  • explaining the value of rehabilitation
  • patient retention
  • referrals
  • other relevant clinic services

This is not about pressuring people into unnecessary treatment.

It is about being confident enough to make a clear professional recommendation, explain why it matters and help the patient commit to the plan that gives them the best chance of reaching their goal.

If the thought of discussing money, recommending further treatment or asking someone to book their next appointment makes you extremely uncomfortable, this probably won't be the right environment for you.

If you enjoy helping people make decisions, building relationships and seeing both your patients and your caseload progress, you could thrive here.
