OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and acute care settings, demonstrating expertise in medical terminology and the ability to work effectively within a clinic environment. As a PTA, you will assist in the delivery of treatment plans, support patient progress through therapeutic exercises, and ensure a smooth and supportive clinic experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a recognized Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) diploma program.
  • Previous clinical experience in a rehab, outpatient, or physiotherapy clinic setting is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of medical and rehabilitation terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach.
  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills (e.g., EMR systems, charting).
  • CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the physiotherapist in implementing individualized treatment programs.
  • Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and mobility programs.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment.
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatment and progress to the supervising physiotherapist.
  • Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and home programs as directed by the physiotherapist.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Support clinic flow by helping with patient scheduling, communication, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards at all times.
